PTCBR May Public Meeting – Light Rail 2A works approval

6 May 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

The ACT Government has been talking big about light rail to Woden for a long time, but now it’s finally happening.

You’ve probably seen the Works Approval for Light Rail Stage 2A is currently out for consultation. These are the plans for the extension from Alinga Street to Commonwealth Park, along London Circuit. It shows the stations, landscaping and active travel improvements, as well as how they’ll build it, and the disruptions involved.

Our May public meeting will take a closer look at these plans. We’ll hear from:

  • Major Projects Canberra: the ACT Government agency responsible for the project
  • the National Capital Authority: the Federal Government body which is approving the project.

They’ll tell us more about the project, and give you an opportunity to ask your own as well. PTCBR already has some thoughts about some things which might need improving, and we’ll be raising these.

So please, read up on what’s involved, and come along to the Gungahlin Library on Saturday 6 May, 1-3.30pm!

For those of you who aren’t able to make it, we’ll try to set up a live stream, or at least put up a video on the PTCBR YouTube afterwards. Also, if you’ve got any questions you’d like to ask, feel free to send us an email, and we’ll be sure to ask it on the day.
