You are warmly invited to the Public Transport Association of Canberra’s Annual General Meeting for 2025. It’s been a busy year and we’re looking forward to seeing members new and familiar, as well as welcoming the general public, to talk all things public transport.

At this year’s AGM we are pleased to have Minister for Transport Chris Steel MLA attending to deliver an address on key ACT public transport issues. The Minister will then participate in a Q&A session in which he’ll be joined by new Executive Group Manager of Transport Canberra Jeremy Smith, Executive Group Manager, Delivery – Transport and Civil in Infrastructure Canberra Anthony Haraldson, and Light Rail Stage 2B project director with Infrastructure Canberra Marcus Sainsbury. They are keen to answer all your questions about light rail, MyWay+, bus operations, and much more.

The committee is looking forward to recapping the year to date. We then want to hear from you on “what next for PTCBR” – we’ve got discussion time scheduled, as well as a social hour at the venerable King O’Malley’s, in which we hope to hear your ideas, observations, and suggestions for what you would like to see from PTCBR going forward. Among other things, we’ll be looking at updating our constitution, examining our association objectives, and thinking about where our energy and efforts are best spent as public transport advocates.

At this AGM we will also be thanking and farewelling some of our office-bearers who won’t be standing for their positions again. We are very keen to welcome some new faces to the committee! Election of new committee. The annual election of the PTCBR Committee will be conducted at the AGM. Those who wish to nominate need to complete the online nomination form (link below) including details of two PTCBR financial members who are supporting your nomination. Nominations must be received by the Secretary by 6pm Thursday 2 October 2025.
